A quote from a magazine
According to a new study our indoor-based’,
Ultra clean lifestyles could be harming children’s health.
Researchers say without exposure to dirt and germs
Early in life the immune system doesn’t learn how to
Control Its reaction to invaders.
If only our own mums and dads had realised that when we came in from play covered in mud!
This is a fascinating subject. In America there is an obsession with antimicrobial behavior. Upon entering my local supermarket one is confronted with dispensers of antimicrobial goo to coat ones hands and arms with. Bathrooms, kitchens, schools… all come equipped with products to search out and destroy our microscopic partners in this journey we call life. When one stops to consider that we all are symbiotic arrangements of 10 microscopic entities to 1 “us” cell, it is no wonder that we are so immunologically screwed up. My European ancestors conquered the world thanks to their filthy, disease ridden lifestyles. Now we search for a life defined by the opposite only to find that, in all likelihood, we will be done in by the very same process… this time in reverse and originating in the third world. Ironic.
All the best

I just wanted to stop by and thank you for your comment on Sunday Prayer and for following my blog.
Thanks for visiting the Grits and Purls blog. I hope you continue to enjoy it.

Hello, not at all sure what to say. I don’t know much about children, I’m merely a Godfather of sorts, but what can I say, the more I hear from them, and the more I see of them, the more I learn.
To my mind, the little one’s should be first in any queue while their older peers learn a little “about manners” (tee-hee). i must say that your blog, a busy one by all accounts, is quite delightful. So you know, I’m following you now – I need to make a note in my shriv’led diary to pay you a regular visit.
I had high hopes of finishing my degree earlier, but the good professor has insistently advised me that I need to persist with my poetry studies, both on the intermediary and advanced level. So, off I go then.
Oh, not sure if its appropiate, but we’ll try…
i would be delighted if you could take some time out to follow my blog, really, I would, it would be a privilege – if you search the categories, you’ll find a little poetry here and there.
…while we may not always meet & greet, you’ll know that time is always pressing, but its well worth the wait (and the visit)….
Tally-ho,
Mark
I always say that about our kids today. Back then we built up the immunity to germs without any drugs. But everything today is more dangerous than it was back then wasn’t it?
Thanks for visiting my blog. I’ve had a look around at yours and have vowed to visit again.
Thanks glad you enjoyed your visit.
