I am Susie the pig
And I think it is rude to spit.
It doesn’t look very nice and
If everyone did this
It would be like skating on ice.
A friend of mine
Called Freddy the Frog,
Saw someone spitting in the pond.
This is a place that is his home,
Along with all the fish and ducks
Who keep their habitat very clean.
He could not believe
His eyes when he saw
Someone spitting in his home.
My opinion is this,
I spat everywhere I went,
All over the fields
Or in my sty?
I spat in someone’s eye?
I couldn’t imagine doing that,
I must admit.
But, let me tell you about
The chocolate cat
Who lives next door,
He licks himself
Whilst lying on the floor.
He is very vain
But I must admit,
I have never seen him spit.

I rubbed my eyes
As I jumped out of bed.
”Brush your teeth,”
My mother said.
I opened my curtains wide,
I could not believe my eyes.
I saw a very large frog
Absolutely full of spots
Could it be a dog?
Is it barking? Or is it croaking?
Then came that voice,
“Have you brushed your teeth yet?”
Then the frog stopped and pushed his nose,
Against the glass,
“What time is it?” he cried.
“I left my watch at my bed side.”
My mother then ran up the stairs
I waved goodbye to spotty frog,
He started barking like a dog.
It sounded very much like,
“Have you brushed your teeth yet?”

Sometimes I have a lot of food On a very large plate, Sometimes I cannot wait To eat my fruit and veg, I always know It will help me grow, Strengthen my bones From tip to toe, But sometimes I get fed up With my fruit and veg, I push my plate away Then I hear my father say, “You wont grow up to reach the stars, Or have the strength Of six spacemen.” I had to remind him then, That I’m a teddy bear “That is no excuse,” he said. “You still have to eat Your fruit and veg!” Taken from the Manners book written by Gillian Sims Find this at:www.waterstones.com Look out for the new Manners book being printed right now.
