Bang boom zoom
Is what I hear!
Eye-catching colours
Fast appear
Bang boom zoom
Is what I hear!
Colourful paint drops
Invade the air
Bang boom zoom
Is what I hear!
Eye catching colours
Slowly disappear
Bang boom zoom
Is what I hear!
These colourful fireworks
I really seem to fear

Goosey- Goosey gander where do you wander

Down to the forest where the grass is so green

To the goose fair site where all can be seen

With all the smells  in the air what a wonderful atmosphere

Helter Skelter roundabouts and Dodgem cars all whirling about

Mushy peas and candy floss

children screaming as the rides go so fast

There’s Gipsie Rose Lee is reading  your  palms

Filling you up with all her charms

Big wheel so high I feel I could touch the sky

Its time to go as the goose fair lights go low

Then trailer’s packed and off they go

This year’s gone so fast

My daddy looks tough as nails
And hard as metal.
But the truth is easy to tell
He’s sweet and loving
And can always understand me
Patient he is
And he always makes a big difference in my everyday life.
Always managing to put a smile on my face.
Even when his days aren’t so good
My daddy is my hero
He is my best friend who I can always trust
And I don’t have to worry about being misjudged
He is my daddy
And above everybody he is who makes me feel very happy
The truth is I love my daddy

I know this man
Who is dear to my heart
Suddenly one day
It was torn all apart

This man taught me everything
That I needed to know
But I never really listened
Until he had to go

He gave me love
And touched my life
It’s all over now
He no longer has to fight

He tried to teach me
Right for wrong
The day he left
I wasn’t that strong

He is gone now
It is hard to believe
This man is my dad
Who I will never see

But I will see him again
This I know
The day will come
When it’s time for me to go

So, I’ll hold him dear
And close to my heart
Cause the day we meet
I know we’ll never be torn apart.

remembrance_poppies_main.jpg

We’ll be pausing for two minutes at 11 o’clock today to mark Armistice day.

When we talked about the importance of remembering and the wearing of poppies a few weeks ago, we had such a big response that we kept in touch with some of the listeners we spoke to – many of whom were under 16.

Joshua Peters is nine years old and he has written some poems about remembrance. He’ll be on the radio at about 10.50am today, and two others, both called Olivia, will read their poems about World War 2 after the silence.

Here’s one of Joshua’s poems I thought you might like to see:

Heaven is all around, Life in War 1914-1918

Lying without motion on the ground
The lost ones have been found.
The dead have been crowned.
Heaven is all around.
Those soldiers fought in war
With the Devil at their doors.
Now without a sound,
Heaven is all around.
Don’t leave them there, for God’s sake,
End their loved ones ache.
Heaven is here.

By Joshua Peters
Aged 9 yrs (March 2007)

Mackenzie put a whoopie cushion
on the teacher’s chair.
Makayla told the teacher
that a bug was in her hair.

Alyssa brought an apple
with a purple gummy worm
and gave it to the teacher
just to see if she would squirm.

Elijah left a piece of plastic
dog doo on the floor,
and Vincent put some plastic vomit
in the teacher’s drawer.

Amanda put a goldfish
in the teacher’s drinking glass.
These April Fool’s Day pranks
are ones that you could use in class.

Before you go and try them, though,
there’s something I should mention:
The teacher wasn’t fooling
when she put us in detention.

Easter songs

Children really like Easter time time time time tasks and they really like songs, too. So any outstanding Easter time time time time time party needs some Easter time time time time time Rabbit songs. Here are fun Easter songs for kids that teenagers will really like, from the well-known Here Comes Honest Cottontail to more featherweight known songs such as 12 Periods of Easter time time time time time. Usually select the “play” recommendations in each picture to pay attention to brief circumstances from each one. Hoppy Easter!

Easter songs

Easter Rabbit

A rabbit came to my house once,
With funny,stretched-out ears (Hands on head like bunny ears)
His nose was full of wiggles, and (wiggle nose)
His eyes were full of fears (point to eyes)
I said,”Why do you twitch your nose?
Is that a bunny habit?
And are you called the “March Hare”
Or called the Easter Rabbit?
He never said a word: but bounced (Hands on head like bunny ears)
Away on pushing legs; (Hop forward)
But, oh, he left behind a nest (Look backward)
Of colored Easter eggs!

Bunny Pokey Sung to

“Hokey Pokey”
You put your bunny ears in
(Place hands on head to make ears)
You put your bunny ears out.
You put your bunny ears in.
And you shake them all about.
You do the Bunny Pokey
And hop yourself around,
That’s what it’s all about!
Additional verses: “You put your bunny nose in, You put your bunny tail in,
You put your bunny paws in”

The Easter Bunny Song

Oh, the Easter Bunny’s coming, she’s the one I long to see.
She’s got eggs in her basket, she’s bringing them to me.
I’m looking out the window and I hope she gets here quick,
I need marshmallow bunnies and a little chocolate chick.

Oh, I love Easter Sunday and it comes round every year
Right now I’m so excited cause the Easter Bunny’s here!
The Easter eggs are lovely, with swirls on them because,
The Easter Bunny paints them with her little furry paws.

We’ll take the eggs and hide them, all up and down the hill,
And I’ll go back to find them with my little brother, Bill.
We will pile up all the goodies and I’ll eat all I can take,
And then end Easter Sunday with a big old belly ache.

Now sing briskly

Oh, the Easter Bunny’s coming, she’s the one I long to see.
She’s got eggs in her basket, she’s bringing them to me.
I’m looking out the window and I hope she gets here quick,
I need marshmallow bunnies and a little chocolate chick.
I need marshmallow bunnies and a little chocolate chick.
I need marshmallow bunnies and a little chocolate chick.

Classic Easter Bunny song

Here comes Peter Cottontail,
Hoppin’ down the bunny trail,
Hippity, hoppity,
Easter’s on its way.

Bringin’ every girl and boy Baskets full of Easter joy,
Things to make your Easter bright and gay.
He’s got jelly beans for Tommy,
Colored eggs for sister Sue,
There’s an orchid for your Mommy
And an Easter bonnet, too.

Oh! here comes Peter Cottontail,
Hoppin’ down the bunny trail,
Hippity hoppity,
Happy Easter day.

Here comes Peter Cottontail,
Hoppin’ down the bunny trail,
Look at him stop,
and listen to him say:
“Try to do the things you should.”
Maybe if you’re extra good,
He’ll roll lots of Easter eggs your way.

You’ll wake up on Easter morning
And you’ll know that he was there
When you find those choc’late bunnies
That he’s hiding ev’rywhere.

Oh! here comes Peter Cottontail,
Hoppin’ down the bunny trail,
Hippity hoppity,
Happy Easter day.
